พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชได้พระราชทานพระบรมราโชวาท เพื่อเชิญลงพิมพ์ ในหนังสือท่ีระลึกครบรอบ 60 ปีของกรมการทหารส่ือสาร กองทัพบก ความว่า “...งานส่ือสารที่พึงประสงค์ นน้ั จะตอ้ งมปี ระสทิ ธภิ าพเตม็ เปย่ี ม รวดเรว็ ทนั เหตกุ ารณอ์ ยตู่ ลอดเวลา จงึ จา เปน็ ทจี่ ะตอ้ งพยายามศกึ ษา ค้นคว้าวิทยาการและเทคโนโลยีอันก้าวหน้าให้ลึกซึ้งและกว้างขวาง และรู้จักพิจารณานาส่วนที่ดีมี ประโยชน์แท้มาใช้ด้วยความริเริ่มและความเฉลียวฉลาด เพ่ือให้งานท่ีทาพัฒนาอย่างเต็มที่ และอานวย ประโยชน์ สร้างเสริมเสถียรภาพของบ้านเมืองได้อย่างสมบูรณ์แท้จริง...”
บริษัท กสท โทรคมนาคม จากัด (มหาชน) ในฐานะผู้ให้บริการโทรคมนาคมรายใหญ่ของประเทศ จึง ไดพ้ ฒั นาระบบโครงขา่ ยสอื่ สารโทรคมนาคมอยา่ งไมห่ ยดุ ยงั้ โดยไดเ้ ปดิ เสน้ ทางเชอื่ มตอ่ ไปยงั ภมู ภิ าคตา่ งๆ ทว่ั โลกผ่านระบบเคเบิลใยแก้วนาแสงใต้น้า (Submarine Cable) ซ่ึงในปี 2559 บริษัทมีแผนการเปิดใช้งาน เส้นทางใหม่ ได้แก่ APG (Asia Pacific Gateway) ท่ีเช่ือมโยงโดยตรงจากประเทศไทยไปยังมาเลเซีย สิงคโปร์ เวียดนาม ฮ่องกง จีน เกาหลี และญ่ีปุ่น ตลอดจนประเทศในภูมิภาคต่างๆ ทั่วโลก ซ่ึงระบบเคเบิลใยแก้ว นาแสงใต้น้านี้นับเป็นเทคโนโลยีโครงข่ายส่ือสารโทรคมนาคมที่ดีที่สุดและมีเสถียรภาพมากที่สุด
นอกจากนี้ในส่วนของ CAT Digital Gateway ก็มีจานวนและขนาดแบนด์วิดท์ในการเชื่อมต่อไปยัง ผู้ให้บริการทั่วโลกมากท่ีสุดในประเทศไทย เทียบเท่าผู้ให้บริการชั้นนาของภูมิภาค และยังมีแผนขยายวงจร เชื่อมต่อขนาด 100 Gbps ไปยังภูมิภาคต่างๆ ซ่ึงจะทาให้มีแบนด์วิดท์รวมกว่า 500 Gbps อันจะส่งผลให้ ผู้ใช้บริการผ่าน CAT Digital Gateway สามารถเข้าถึง Content ต่างๆ ได้อย่างรวดเร็วย่ิงขึ้น
The late King’s remarks were published in the gift book memorializing the 60th anniversary of the Military’s Signal Department, Royal Thai Army on May 27, 1984. His remarks were as follows: “...The desired communication work has to be thoroughly effective and instantaneous. We all should conduct both academic and technological research deeply and widely in order to single out the good and effective parts and make them even better. In addition, we should exercise our intelligence and initiatives in accordance with our societal positions and the conditions of our nation, so as to develop our communication affairs, as well as facilitate the growth of our economy and society and the stability of our nation holistically...”
On behalf of one of the leading national telecommunications service providers, CAT Telecom Public Company Limited had unstoppably developed its telecommunications network by opening network channels to other regions across the globe via a submarine cable. In 2016, the company planned to open new channels such as APG (Asia Pacific Gateway) which provides direct links from Thailand to Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, Korea, Japan and other countries around the world. This submarine cable has been regarded as the best and most stable telecommunications technology.
In addition, CAT Digital Gateway has the largest number and size of bandwidth that connects to service providers in Thailand, which is equivalent to the leading service provider in the region. There was also a plan that expands network circuits in the size of 100 Gbps to other regions, which will create more bandwidth of up to 500 Gbps. This allows users of CAT Digital Gateway to have quicker access to different contents.
