ในปัจจุบันโลกกาลังเผชิญกับภัยคุกคามทางด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างหนัก ไม่ว่าจะเป็นมลภาวะ ภัยพิบัติ ทางธรรมชาติ ตลอดจนการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศที่นับวันจะทวีความรุนแรงขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง ด้วยเหตุนี้ บมจ. กสท โทรคมนาคม จึงมุ่งมั่นท่ีจะเป็นองค์กรที่มีส่วนช่วยลดผลกระทบด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยน้อมนาพระบรมราโชวาทของพระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ในเรื่องการประหยัด มาประยกุ ตใ์ ชใ้ หเ้ กดิ เปน็ รปู ธรรม จากการท่ี บมจ. กสท โทรคมนาคม ไดด้ า เนนิ กจิ กรรมตา่ งๆ อาทิ การรณรงค์ ให้พนักงานทุกคนประหยัดพลังงาน การเปลี่ยนหลอดไฟส่องสว่างของสานักงานใหญ่ของ บมจ. กสท โทรคมนาคม สา นกั งานบรกิ ารลกู คา้ บมจ. กสท โทรคมนาคม นนทบรุ ี และ CAT Tower บางรกั เปน็ หลอดไฟ ประหยัดพลังงาน T5 เพื่อลดค่าใช้จ่ายด้านพลังงานและยืดอายุการใช้งานอุปกรณ์ รวมถึงได้มีการรณรงค์วิธี การใช้กระดาษอย่างคุ้มค่าและมีประสิทธิภาพ
โดยเชอื่ วา่ การประหยดั ทรพั ยากรตา่ งๆ จะนา มาซงึ่ ความมน่ั คงในดา้ นนนั้ ๆ ไมต่ า่ งจากการใชจ้ า่ ยอยา่ ง ประหยัด ดังพระราชดารัสของพระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมิทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชท่ีพระราชทานแก่ประชาชน ชาวไทยในโอกาสขนึ้ ปใี หม่ 2503 เมอื่ วนั ที่ 31 ธนั วาคม 2502 “การใชจ้ า่ ยโดยประหยดั นนั้ จะเปน็ หลกั ประกนั ความสมบรู ณพ์ นู สขุ ของผปู้ ระหยดั เองและครอบครวั ชว่ ยปอ้ งกนั ความขาดแคลนในวนั ขา้ งหนา้ การประหยดั ดงั กลา่ วนจี้ ะมผี ลดไี มเ่ ฉพาะแกผ่ ปู้ ระหยดั เทา่ นน้ั ยงั จะเปน็ ประโยชนแ์ กป่ ระเทศชาตดิ ว้ ย ทง้ั นโี้ ดยทปี่ ระชาชน แตล่ ะคนเปน็ สว่ นประกอบของประเทศชาตฐิ านะทางเศรษฐกจิ ของประเทศชาตกิ ข็ น้ึ อยกู่ บั ฐานะความเปน็ อยู่ ของประชาชนพลเมือง”
In today’s world, we are facing extreme environment threats such as pollution, natural disasters, and global warming that has continuously intensi ed. For this reason, CAT Telecom aims to become the organization that helps reducing these environmental threats by humbly putting the late king’s economizing initiatives into practice. CAT Telecom has held many activities that support the idea of economizing. For example, the company raises awareness about energy saving among its employees. CAT Telecom changed the light bulbs of CAT’s headquarters, customer service center in Nonthaburi Province and CAT Tower located in the Bang Rak District. Instead, the company now uses T5 light bulbs to save energy, reducing energy-related costs and lengthening the durability of these electronic devices. Better still, CAT Telecom raises awareness about how to use paper to gain the maximum bene t.
CAT Telecom believes that economizing these resources will bring in stability in those abovementioned areas. The principles of our activities are similar to those of the late king’s remark (His Majesty’s remark bestowed upon Thai citizens in the 1960 New Year celebration held on December 31, 1959, that reads “Spending economically will guarantee happiness for yourself and your family’s. It will also prevent conditions of shortage in your days ahead. Not only will this economical spending bene t those who practice it, but it will also bene t the nation. As the nation is made up of citizens, the nation’s economy will depend on the living conditions of its citizens.”
