ตลอดรัชสมัยของพระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดช การส่ือสารของประเทศไทยนับว่า ได้รับการพัฒนาอย่างสูงสุด ด้วยทรงสนพระราชหฤทัยและ ทรงเหน็ ความสา คญั วา่ การสอ่ื สารทมี่ ปี ระสทิ ธภิ าพจะนา มาซง่ึ ประโยชนส์ ขุ ของประชาชนและความเจรญิ รงุ่ เรอื งของประเทศชาติ จึงมีพระราชดารัสให้พัฒนางานและกิจการด้านการส่ือสาร ข อ ง ป ร ะ เ ท ศ อ ย เ่ ู ส ม อ ด งั เ ช น่ เ ค ย ม พี ร ะ บ ร ม ร า โ ช ว า ท เ ช ญิ ล ง พ มิ พ ์ ในหนังสือที่ระลึกครบรอบ 60 ปีของกรมการทหารส่ือสาร กองทัพบก เม่ือวันที่ 27 พฤษภาคม 2527 ว่า
“งานส่ือสารที่พึงประสงค์นั้นจะต้องมีประสิทธิภาพ เต็มเปี่ยม รวดเร็ว ทันเหตุการณ์อยู่ตลอดเวลา จึงจาเป็นท่ีจะ ตอ้ งพยายามศกึ ษาคน้ ควา้ วทิ ยาการและเทคโนโลยอี นั กา้ วหนา้ ใหล้ กึ ซงึ้ และกวา้ งขวาง และรจู้ กั พจิ ารณานา สว่ นทดี่ มี ปี ระโยชน์ แท้มาใช้ด้วยความริเร่ิมและความเฉลียวฉลาด เพ่ือให้งานที่ทา พัฒนาอย่างเต็มที่ และอานวยประโยชน์ สร้างเสริมเสถียรภาพ ของบ้านเมืองได้อย่างสมบูรณ์แท้จริง”
Throughout the reign of The late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, communications in Thailand were developed to the highest level. The late King had a strong interest in the importance of communications and recognized that effective communications would provide public bene t and growth of the nation. The late King therefore placed strong emphasis on the development of communications in Thailand as evidenced in the Royal Speech published in the 60th anniversary book of the Signal Department of the Royal Thai Army on May 27, 1984, which stated that:
“Communication is desirable and must be at
its full capacity and ef ciency, fast and up-to-date at
all times. It is necessary that we study advanced
science and technology in greater detail, and put the
bene cial elements into use with creativity and
acumen. This is to ensure that the work you are
doing will be developed to its full capacity and yield
bene ts, while truly and fully promoting the nation’s
stability”
